STURGIS 2007
2007's BEST MOTORCYCLE TOUR
Milwaukee to Sturgis and beyond
August 01, 2007 - Aug 11, 2007
1st Day: You will arrive in Milwaukee by your choice of transportation. You will first check into your motel and head over to gear up and rent your bikes. After you have picked up your bikes the motorcycle tour will head to the Harley Davidson plant / Harley Museum, to begin your tour. Dinner is on us tonight! We will be dinning at one of the finest restaurants in Milwaukee where we will have cocktails, great food and meet new friends from all over the world. This is when we will hand out maps, riding instructions and prepare for a memory of a lifetime.
2'"' Day: After leaving Milwaukee we will head west using the Interstates past Madison and into the bluffs of the Mississippi river valley, and enter Minnesota. Minnesota is where some of the freshest and most delicious food in the world is grown. There are fields of corn, wheat, strawberries, and apple orchards. We will end our first day on the road in Albert Lea.
3rd Day: Our Motorcycle tour will depart Albert Lea, MN and head to Winner, SD, we will only remain on the Interstate until Sioux Falls. Just out side of Sioux Falls we drop down to the back roads. The motorcycle tour should see very little traffic as we are on the open prairie with nothing but grasslands and open sky. This is what riding is all about, in the wind with the sun on your face. You are not riding through the country but in the country just you and your bike. Shade is at a premium here and stops are planned around shade.
4thDay: You and your motorcycle tour guide will pass through Rosebud, Pine Ridge Indian Reservations and along the edge of the Badlands. You will enjoy the dramatic change of scenery from the Badlands to the Grasslands of Buffalo Gap, and then into the Black Hills. With its breath-taking views of waterfalls, sheer cliff walls, springs, a roaring stream, and plenty of wildlife. We will sleep in Lead, but the night in Deadwood is just 3 miles away.
Have a drink in the tavern were "Wild Bill" Hickok was shot, gamble in the casino's, walk the town or stand outside and watch motorcycles. In one year at Sturgis there were 750,000 bikes, as we said a memory of a lifetime. Whether you are, rich, poor, fat, thin, young, old, we are all ridersof the wind.
5th-6thDay: For the next two days you have a choice of whether to ride with your guide or head out on your own. 2 motorcycle tours will be available.
We head into downtown Sturgis and hang out for 3 or 4 hours. Then move onto the Full Throttle Saloon and the Buffalo Chip Campground. These are the places you might want to check out at night.
We will get a later start today and ride through the Black Hills and on to Crazy Horse Monument and Mt. Rushmore. You will want to see Mt. Rushmore when it is lit up for the night. It is magnificent.
7th Day: The motorcycle tour will head northwest. They will hear our thunder as we blast into the wide-open prairie of South Dakota and onto the Cheyenne Indian Reservation. Here if we are lucky we will get rain. Yes I said it, but to watch the storms explode and travel across the Prairie is a sight to see.
8thDay: Another day of riding the backcountry. We will see the countryside begin to change from the light brown prairies to fields of green in Minnesota. The Green and shade trees will be a welcome site.
9th Day: Picking up the Interstates we will ride through Minnesota and move into the Mississippi River bluffs of Wisconsin. Once in Wisconsin we will pick up the back roads again and zig zag our way to the Lakeside Inn in Mukwonago, Wi. Before you leave our State you must experience one of Wisconsin's delicacies. Not the cheese but the Wisconsin Fish Fry and the Lakeside Inn has one of the best along with a view of Phantom Lake. Here you will have a chance to say your good bye's and exchange address and numbers to the life long friends you have made.
10th Day: The motorcycle tour ends with rental returns and Departure back to your homes.
